Keller Fountain

Water is life's mater and matrix, mother and medium. There is no life without water.
-Albert Szent-Gyorgy

Congregation of the contented!
People of sugar, lust and sun soak in each other's love for the grass and water.
Cracking laugh from the near-naked sideburn guy with tattoos
along with the splash sounds and beautiful beetles on the leaves
leaves me assured that pure glow is never destroyed.

Skin glimmers off the bathing beauties.
Here, everyone knows the tree-sprout dance, still
alive with orange juice giggles, bike tire squeaks, nipples exposed.
The cheekbone of a passing girl in red whispers my secret,
now devoured by the dance.

Popsicle explosion over the grassy green,
and the coin toss brigade brings the shiny gifts to her depths,
a peace treaty of tongue and toe and lash and Earth
to Keller Fountain.
