Let out her leash- this girl is wild!

"National consciousness, which is not nationalism, is the only thing that will give us an international dimension."
- Frantz Fanon, The Wretched of the Earth

We can all can agree that Lady Liberty is the most domestic of all historic American women; she has been in the same spot since her dedication in 1886. She was reaffirmed of her worth with a "kudos to you" in 1986 during her centenial celebration, but this almost 130 year domesticity should be enough for us [Americans] to see that she needs a vacation!

Here she is on vacation in Paris. Don't forget the sunscreen!

I propose we let her cut loose a bit and give her a vacation. All globalization and no travel makes Lady Liberty a dull lass. How about a nice stroll across the field, and cap it off with a relaxing soak in the Pacific?
